Client's Request and Task
A concrete plant required a specially adapted access staircase to the mixing room that seamlessly integrates into the existing steel structure. The assembly was to be carried out by the client themselves, so clear assembly instructions were necessary. The staircase needed to be ergonomic, safe for employees, and stable, reliable, as well as compliant with standards.

Our Solution
Design of the L-Shaped Staircase
The staircase was designed as a double-flight construction in an L-shape with a supporting section. It consists of two staircases and two platforms. The first staircase, with a 45° inclination, leads to the lower platform, followed by the second staircase, offset by 90°, leading to the upper platform. Both staircases are equipped with steps 1000 mm wide and a handrail on both sides.
Technical Details and Assembly
The platform width is 1050 mm, with the second platform length being 2650 mm. The heights of the platforms are 1500 mm and approximately 4400 mm, respectively. The steps have a depth of 240 mm, and the projections of the platforms including the stairs are approximately 3000 mm and approximately 6650 mm, respectively. The staircase and the support part are fixed to the ground with angle brackets, while the upper platform is fixed to the client's object with an angle bracket.
Safety Aspects and Load Capacity
The decking is made of steel grating (R12) and ensures a surface load of 1.5 kN/m². The maximum total load is 300 kg, and the step load is 150 kg. The railing on the second platform features cutouts for the transition to the client's object, providing the highest safety.
