Client's Request and Task
A leading manufacturer of crane trucks required a specialized work platform for the assembly area of its crane booms. A crucial aspect was the platform's flexibility, as the crane boom needs to swing over the platform during assembly without the railings being in the way. The platform ladder had to be usable for various types of cranes, individually adaptable, easily operable by one employee, protect the product from damage, and be stable, reliable, and compliant with standards. A special focus was placed on simple and quick handling.

Our Solution
Platform Ladder Concept
The solution consists of two symmetrically designed, mobile platform ladders with a 45° inclination, one for each the left and right side. Each ladder has a foldable platform that is locked via a hinge. Scissor railings on the longitudinal side can be unlocked from the upper platform using a foot pedal. These railings are extendable and equipped with gas pressure dampers to ensure easy handling. Additionally, protective tubes on the sides opposite the railings and in the ascent area protect the product.
Technical Data and Safety Features
The total length of the platform ladder is approximately 6000 mm, with a width of about 1000 mm and a height of 2700 mm. The platform itself is 3500 mm long, with an additional 1060 mm foldable at the front, and has a width of 850 mm. The platform height is 1600 mm. The ladder is equipped with a ribbed aluminum platform and is mobile thanks to four steering casters with direction locks and a foot central brake under the first step.
Load Capacities
The platform ladder is designed for a surface load of 150 kg/m² and has a total load capacity of 300 kg. Each step can bear a load of up to 150 kg.
