Client's Request and Task
A large brewery company faced the challenge of developing a specialized scaffolding system for maintenance and cleaning work on various brewing kettles. The requirements included a special mobile scaffolding that could be flexibly adapted to different kettle contours while enabling ergonomic and safe working. A particular focus was on the modular structure in various lengths and standard-compliant execution, to efficiently support a wide range of tasks, such as cleaning and polishing the brewing kettles. The scaffolding also needed to be highly stable and reliable and capable of being used by several employees simultaneously.

Our Solution
Special Scaffolding Concept
The developed special scaffolding consists of two scaffold parts that can be flexibly combined using connecting platforms. Each scaffold part includes two side frame sections and a 5-part crossbeam construction on two levels. The platform length is variable and adapts to different brewing kettle sizes, with a total of eight clamp-on platforms (four per scaffold) each measuring 1500 / 1800 mm in length and railings that can be inserted on both sides.
Contour Adaptation and Safety Features
For optimal adaptation to the brewing kettle contours, the scaffolding includes four special platforms (two per scaffold) with collision protection and lockable sheets for additional safety. The contour adaptation is covered with an orange protective tube, and a yellow/black edge protection on the lower frame provides additional safety. For work on the brewing kettle pipes, a modified standard scaffold is used.
Technical Data and Flexibility
The platforms have a width of approximately 1050 mm and are height-adjustable, with a maximum platform height of about 4000 mm. The side frames measure 4600 mm in height, resulting in a total scaffold height of about 5100 mm. The decking is made of wood screen-print, and the scaffold is equipped with high-quality swivel casters with locks.
Load Capacities
The scaffolding is designed for a surface load of 150 kg/m² and a total load of 300 kg, with a step load of 150 kg.
